Oracle 12c Data access components install failing

Hye,

I am trying to install Oracle 12c Data components but it fails

I am using a response file and have tried as an install and also as a command but both fail with a error code of 256

I think it is doing the pre reqs and then failing

Th e command line I am currently trying is

"\\<server>\Software\MSI\Oracle\ODTwithODAC121024\setup.exe" - silent -responseFile "\\<server>\software\msi\Oracle\ODTwithODAC121024\install\client.rsp"

I have also tired the -ignorepreqs switches but fails the same way

Anyone out there tried this or have any ideas please?

  • Can you post a screen-shot of your package settings? Just want to make sure it looks good before we move on to more troubleshooting.

  • here we go

that calls the following batch file

    "\\DATA1\Software\MSI\Oracle\ODTwithODAC121024\setup.exe" - silent -nowait -responseFile "\\data1\software\msi\Oracle\ODTwithODAC121024\install\client.rsp"

Also tried as a command with the same result

  • output file on failure shows

    C:\Windows\AdminArsenal\PDQDeployRunner\service-1\exec>"\\DATA1\Software\MSI\Oracle\ODTwithODAC121024\setup.exe" - silent -nowait -responseFile "\\data1\software\msi\Oracle\ODTwithODAC121024\install\client.rsp"

Exit code of OUI process 259=

  • Does your batch file work outside of PDQ Deploy? If you wanted to take the bat to a machine that needs the software and run it, does it execute as expected?

Might I suggest this as your package:

Obviously I'm showing an error because that path and exe don't exist, but that won't be the case for you.

  • yes they are where they are shown to be and if we run it manually it works OK just when we try to deploy it fails.

  • Many thanks for your suggestion above but I have already tried that as well. It also fails with the same error.

Much easier to deploy an MSI but there isn't one for this available.

  • Does anyone figure out a solution to this? We have same issue. Tried to a do install step with the parameters same issue. Copy the whole installation folder and launch the set up from batch file locally from PDQ. Same problem. However, if we start the batch locally by hand, the software is installed without any problem.

  • I hate to necropost but it looks like no solution was ever posted. We are having the same issues, has anyone figure it out yet?
