Deploying VMware View Agent?

Hey guys,

I tried to setup a package by myself but I wasn't successfull so far. Already checked silent install parameters and knowledge base of VMware:

Tested with the VMware-viewagent-x86_64-6.2.2-3508800.exe file and also tried the extracted .msi file in it. The installation step will hang forever.

Used parameters: /s /v"/qn"

 

Any advice?

    Post up a picture of your deployment. I'm deploying the VMWare Horizon Client with great success. It's probably something in the package settings tripping you up. If I see it, I can help.

    with that: excluded Win XP, Vista, Server 2003 etc., Architecture 64 bit only, Run As Deploy User

    Hmm. Looks to be correct and matches documentation.

    I'd recommend changing your parameters to this:

    /S /V" /qn REBOOT=Reallysuppress" /L C:\viewlog.log

     

    If you do want the target to reboot after the deployment, add a Reboot step after the install step to allow PDQ to handle state changes properly.

    Thanks for that. I tried with your adviced parameters and got an error message now (I've had this one before when trying to run the silent setup with defaults).

    The installer returns error code 1603. VMware KB defines it like that:

    But I don't know how to solve that problem. VM is rebooted, all WSUS updates are installed, also tried all online available Windows updates. Didn't help. I'm logged in to the VM with a domain user which doesn't have admin rights.
