Adobe Reader DC without Chrome extension

Hello!

would it be possible to create a Adobe Reader DC package without the Chrome extension bit that Adobe was so kind to add in the latest version? Wouldn't want that on company PCs and as a bonus all of our users prompted about the extension once this is rolled out, so atm it looks we're kinda stuck with the old pre-crapware version.

    We are going to change the current Adobe Reader DC package to remove the extension. We will also be adding a temporary package for removing the extension for those who have already deployed it.


    If you prefer not to wait you can create your own package with 2 seperate steps one for 32bit and one for 64bit versions using the lines below.


    (32bit)
    %SystemRoot%\System32\Reg.exe DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Google\Chrome\Extensions\efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj" /f 2>nul

    (64bit)

    You may want to add success code 1 to these steps in case the key doesn't exist.

    We've created a package for uninstalling the extension below. We're still trying to figure out how we want to release the full version of Reader as some users want the extension and some users don't.

    Thanks very much for your info.  The 64-bit regedit fix to delete the Adobe Acrobat DC extension seems to have finally worked for me.

    To add a bit of context, and possibly help others searching, I have been frustrated by the Adobe Acrobat DC extension pop-up in Chrome.  Every time I launch Chrome, Adobe Acrobat DC has asked to install or remove from Chrome.  I click "remove", yet when I next close and open Chrome it keeps coming back and prompting me with the same question to install/remove.

    I think once or twice with my experiments to remove it, it has installed automatically somehow.  I have tried removing it from chrome://extensions too, but to no avail.  I've also searched the internet, which mentioned using "policies" in both Windows and Google, but these do not seem to be set or available on my install.  I've also tried stopping any Adobe Reader DC related processes.

    Anyway, your fix for the Adobe Reader DC repeatedly trying to install on my Google Chrome seems to have finally worked - and much appreciated.  Adobe Reader DC seems good software, and I really like the document signing (wish I'd known of that before!) - but this Chrome extension affects confidence in the software quality.
