PDQ deploy and Office 2007 app shortcuts and Fonts
Hey Guys
Just purchased the Pro version after trialling the free version for a few months. I am supporting (well trying to) 75 staff on my own and this is saving me huge amounts of time. Best product I have stumble upon in ages.
I have managed to create a package for Office 2007 install (don't ask, I know its super old but need Groove and InfoPath). It deploys correctly but I want to pin the icons for Word, Excel and Outlook on the start bar at the top of the menu.
Also is it possible to set the default fonts in Office using PDQDeploy. Just trying to automate new laptop builds as best I can.
Thanks again

Hi, to place shortcuts to the start menu for all users, you have to copy the shortcut file (*.lnk) in to the "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu" directory. There is how ever no easy way to pin the shortcut to the start menu for all users. There are several ways to archieve that. If you pin the shortcut within the Default profile, all new user profiles will inherit the copy. To archieve that, copy: "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned"
to
"C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\"
Otherwise you have to create a script to iterate through all the profiles and copy the pin to the location:
"C:\Users\<profile>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu"
Yet another way to do it is is by using a logon script as described in the thecnet article Pin Items to the Start Menu or Windows 7 Taskbar via Script
P.S.> Are you aware that the Office 2007 support lifecycle ends on October 2017? (no security patches after that date)
