Smartcard / Password Logon Report

I need to generate a report indicating if a system was logged on with a smartcard or standard domain password authentication.  Is this possible?  We are currently in a state of limbo with a "requirement" that users use a smartcard, however due to other complexities that isn't necessarily possible so standard authentication remains in place.

    It might be possibe by collecting specific "Account Logon" events.

    The guys with PowerShell experience could help with that.
