Problems deploying installer - spawns other processes an exits

Greetings,

I'm trying to deploy Alcatel Pimphony software (http://www.proximus.be/dam/cdn/sites/support/documents/telephone_exchange_manual/PIMphony_6.8_bld3215.zip)

This is a big Zip file with an installer (80kb) and nested directory's with other exe's, msi's and msp files.

The main installer launches other installer processes under a different PID and then  always exits with a success exit code. Using PDQ deploy on a client it thinks the install is finished as soon as this main installer gives this exit code and the installer on the client bugs out because it cant find it files anymore.

Obviously I can just throw the installer files on a network drive and work with a batch file, however is there a cleaner way to do this ?

  • HI Kevin, can you supply a screenshot of your package settings?
Did you add the -qn as the command line parameter for install.exe? And also did you include the whole folder in the package? You didnt say what version of PDQ Deploy you have. (Free/Pro/Enterprise)

FYI: Silent installation of PIMphony section 4.5 (link on the top left side of the manual)
