$(Repository) Variable for DFS Share?

We're working on getting setup for PDQ Deploy on a DFS share.  I followed the instructions in your videos.  One issue I seem to be hitting is that packages that reference the $(Repository) don't seem to work right for DFS.  We get a "file not found" message for the install file and a "folder not found" message for the install directory.  It shows us the full path in red that is not found and it is correct.  If you browse to that exact path, it works fine.  If we replace $(Repository) with the actual DFS share path, it also works fine.  Is this expected behavior?

We are using the Free version right now, but have an order on the way for 5 Enterprise licenses for both Deploy and Inventory.  Just waiting for it to go through all the approvals.

  • IDK if this will work for you, but we had a small network outage which caused about half my packages to show an error. It said it could not find the files with the path red. (We also use DFS) I went to Preferences and stopped and started the service. All my packages then showed correctly.

Oh, and if you are using Pull method from the DFS Share, that requires a non-free licences. IDK if that's related or not. (Still new to PDQ, running my Enterprise trial now)

  • Is that value set to the DFS share path you want to use? That is where the $(Repository) comes from.

  • Well, it seems to be working now.  I did a fresh install with my Enterprise license that came today.  I don't really know what the problem was.
