Setting for remote

So really thinking about purchasing the Enterprise license for both PDQ products but I need to know about remote machines. Right now we use KACE for inventory, Windows patches and deployments (if needed) and any computer that is not inside the network can be seen without having the user connect to the VPN all the time. Is there a way to have outside of the network machines talk to PDQ Inventory without using a VPN? These machines do have an Active Directory account as well but not in their own OU (but can be). We want to make this has easy as possible and without user interaction as possible. Some of our users dont even have VPN access do to compliance reasons and we use a second authentication as well for VPN (so licenses is also a problem with that cost wise). I am just trying to get some info and hopefully persuade the boss to move. Already impressed with the ease of PDQ Deploy and he wants to buy that. So any help you can give would be great!

Thanks!

Donna

  • No, we do not currently have that functionality. We plan to add it in a future release.

  • Do you happen to know when that will be put into pdq inventory? If it will be in the next 10 months, then we will dump KACE for pdq inventory. I am loving this program but the remote ability to work hinders us from using it.
