Is there a way to change step conditions for Auto-Download packages?

Hello, I use PDQ to patch some third party applications on servers.  Recently I have noticed that our 2012 R2 servers have not been getting Chrome updates as expected, I have found that this is because the PDQ auto-download package has the OS version for steps 1-3 set to only target Server 2016+.  The conditions on these steps is greyed out so I cannot add Server 2012 R2 back in.

Is there a way to add Server 2012 R2 back in without converting it to a standard package, or do I need to do it as a standard package, and every time I want to patch 2012 R2 to a newer version, re-pull the most current package from PDQ and then manually convert it to a standard package and edit the OS conditions?

  • Chrome dropped support for Server 2012: https://help.pdq.com/hc/en-us/articles/5719272144667-PDQ-Package-Library-Changelog

Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Opera have all dropped support for Server 2012 R2 in their latest releases. Server 2012 R2 will become End-of-life (EOL) on October 10, 2023. The latest Edge, Chrome, and Opera packages have been modified to no longer apply to Server 2012 R2 operating systems.

In order to continue to support Server 2012, we have created 3 new packages:

Microsoft Edge for Business 109 (Deprecated)

    Google Chrome Enterprise 109 (Deprecated)

    Opera 95 (Deprecated)

These versions are the latest versions that still apply correctly to Server 2012 R2.

  • Ah, that makes sense, thank you!  I'll have to hassle the owners of those servers to see if I can clean this up then.
