Office 2007 uninstall questions

Hi

I have been trialling the free version of PDQ Deploy for a few months now and have to save it is probably the best piece of software I have stumbled upon in many years. Its already saved me countless hours updating 70 plus users.

I have a project on the horizon where I need to uninstall Office 2007 BUT leave Groove and InfoPath installed and then Install Office 2016.

Can I selectively uninstall components of 2007. This would be a massive time saver if possible.

Thanks

  • Hey!

So to answer ur question in short: "Yes it's possible"

But if it's a time saver is related to ur knowledge of Office and script skills.

Just use the official uninstaller for Office 2007 [Microsoft FixIt]:
    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/odsupport/2011/04/08/how-to-obtain-and-use-offscrub-to-automate-the-uninstallation-of-office-products/

When u extract the .vbs like discribed above, u can edit the script, so exclude all lines which delete Groove&InfoPath. But no idea how the realtion of office tools is which means it could anyway break the program if another reg-entry is missing etc...

I would recommend to start deleting all lines related to Groove&InfoPath and deploy the uninstall to a testmachine. Afterwards u can maybe see which things shouldn't get deleted.

    CHEERS!
