"There was an error starting the PDQ Deploy Installer 0x5 Access is Denied"

I have downloaded and attempted to install the free version of PDQ Deploy but I get the error “There was an error starting the PDQ Deploy Installer 0x5 Access is Denied.” I have full Admin access to my pc. I have XP Sp3, plenty of HD space and 3G Ram.

    Roger,

    We've seen this before a couple of times.  The installer extracts an MSI file to the temp directory and installs it (after checking that the proper version of .NET is installed).  When we've seen the error before, it's been temporary and running the installer again works.  If you are unable to run the installer on a second try, you can extract the MSI by running:

    setup.exe /x setup.msi

    Usually its a good idea to check the windows event logs. In most cases there is a clue what went wrong.
