  • Is the msi (EnterprisePDM64.msi) the only file in this installation, or are there other required files? If there are other required files, did the PDQ Deploy Installer have the "Include entire directory" checked?

A 1603 error is a generic Windows error that is thrown when something unexpected occurs. We've seen that this often occurs when a required installation file is not found during the install. This sometimes occurs when you have anti-virus solutions that prevent the writing of files to the target computer(s) ADMIN$ directory. Do you know if you have this directory protected by AV?

Here is a post on 1603 which may provide some more insight.

  • Are you deployning the correct installer to the correct OS? The one you mentioned is for 64 bit Operating systems.

    Enterprise 2009 x32 and newer: EnterprisePDM.msi
    Enterprise 2009 x64 and newer: EnterprisePDM64.msi

  • You can allways use the following command syntax to create a log file:

    msiexec /i <msipath>setup.msi /l*v c:\temp\msi.log
