Package Library Updates (Firefox)

I know the Mozilla folks make it very hard to use in a business environment where users are NOT admins, so I am looking for a way to deploy and maintain FireFox.  I see FireFox is available in the basic subscription program and the installation installs with updates disabled.  Assuming I deployed FireFox with PDQ Deploy, can I keep FireFox installations up-to-date by repeatedly deploying FireFox as new versions are added to the package library?  Or would I need to uninstall FireFox and redeploy each version? (Assuming the uninstall would leave the preferences folder alone so a reinstall would pickup all settings, preferences, bookmarks, etc. from the previous install.)

  • Hi Eddie,

You can keep Firefox up-to-date without having to uninstall previous versions. Upgrading keeps the preferences and other settings intact.
