  • timeout still exceeding 3 hours ??

    attached my xml file

I can run my office 2010 install over these machines in less time?

Only other thing I can think is we are running MSO Enterprise 2007

  • Hi Larry,

Your current PDQ Package passes the parameters like this: \quiet \norestart

This is not correct. Do not use a backslash to pass a parameter. Use a forward slash (/). The only time you should use a backslash (\) in a parameter is if the parameter is part of a path (such as c:\windows or \\Server\Share)

Your parameters should look like this:

    /quiet /norestart

The reason that it is hanging is because there is, most likely, an error window that was spawned on the target and MsiExec is waiting for it to be closed. Note that you won't see any window since all windows are hidden. This is why it is hanging... the installation is literally waiting for confirmation that will never come.
