Silent uninstall of Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010.

We have a lone copy of microsoft home and business 2010 running on a workstation in a remote office. Is there any way to get this program or pdq inventory to uninstall it?

  • Hi Justin,

I'm not sure about uninstall Office 2010 Home edition. (It may not be able to be silently removed). Here is an article describing uninstalling Visio 2007. It is comparable to removing any office component (or indeed, Office itself). It is a little involved, unfortunately.

  • I've checked the Office 2010 for the uninstall string but it does not contain any. The only uninstall strin is:

    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE14\Office Setup Controller\setup.exe" /quiet /uninstall SINGLEIMAGE /dll OSETUP.DLL

    And its not silent.

BTW if you have only one machine and I assume a direct connection to it why don't you connect to that machine via RDP and to what needs to be done?

  • Oh I also found this FixIt from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971179/en

You should be able to run the FixIt utility with /quiet switch. The requirement is to have "Visual Basic for Applications" installed.
