Problem installing QuickTime

When I deploy QuickTime (with Application support) using the install package from the PDQ Library the install does not return any errors, but QuickTime doesn't function as expected.

After installation, when I log on to the computer in question and browse to 'trailers.apple.com' I can't get any trailers to play in multiple browsers.  I have attached the logs that I had both the Application Support msi and QuickTime msi create.  The log files don't seem to indicate any problems as far as I can tell.

I am installing on a Windows 7 64 bit machine.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

  • If you don't have the latest iTunes, you will need the latest Apple Application Support.  You can find this in the package library.

Deploy this and restart your browsers and you are good to go.

BTW the latest Apple Application Support is released with iTunes.  So if you deploy the latest iTunes you will not need to deploy Apple Application Support.

  • Lex, that makes total sense, but I'm using the QuickTime package from the App Deploy Library.  It installs the Apple Application Support in Step 1 and QuickTime in Step 2.  I don't want to install iTunes on this particular set of machines and in this case, I shouldn't have to.
