I'm running a 3 step deployment and need to increase the reboot timeout

I have a script to run the windows update. So  Step 1) I wake a computer lab and deploy the windows update. Step 2) reboot. Step 3 Shutdown

The reboot can take a while, longer than the default 5mins. This causes the deployment to get a reboot timeout error.

The post http://support.adminarsenal.com/entries/21834214-Reboot-Timing-Out is wrong. The default package time is set to 60min and my reboot time, times out in 5, so they are not the same thing.

Does anyone know how I can increase this timeout value?

Thanks,

Kiba

  • Hi Kiba,

Are you running the update package at a certain time each day?  I might consider running the reboot step as it's own package but what version of Deploy are you currently using where you're seeing this behavior?
