Matlab 2014b install

I trying to install Matlab 2014b with a silent install.  I've followed all the instructions on their site.  I've added the installer switches and options to my task.  It runs, produces no error.  But the install does nothing.  Any clues for Matlab installs?

  • Hi Ernest,

According to the log file, it looks like the install was run in interactive mode.  This will a cause the install to wait for input from an end user.  Because you are deploying this with PDQ Deploy the end user will never see the interactive screens( which is good).  The install will eventually time out and the software will fail to install.

  • Ernest,

Does Matlab need to be installed on a user by user basis?

If so, you can do the installation as the logged on user.

Log on to one of the target machines with the Deploy credentials and see if Matlab was installed.

  • No, Matlab does not need to installer on a user by user basis.  I logged on the the Deploy credentials, matlan not installed.

  • Ernest,

The install is asking the end user:

"Would you like to retry installing 3p/antlr_common?  If you press No, the installer will exit without completing the installation."

It is timing out waiting for a response.

Looks like the install is expecting "3p/antlr_common" to be installed or it can't find the file to install.

Are you including the intire install directory on your install step?

  • I am including the entire install directory.  Also have tried loading the iso with virtual clone drive and am getting the same error.  Contacted MathWorks and they contend its the installer for pdq failing....... blah blah talk to PDQ etc.........

  • Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I'm having the same problem while evaluating PDQDeploy

I'm using Push to copy the files over (6GB+) and it seems to me that the files are possibly being deleted prematurely or not copied in the first place? I have tried to deploy this 9 times now and the file the Matlab installer cannot find is not always the same.

Tried disabling AV incase that was deleting them.

The console reports 'success' even if the error is still on my screen.

I will try the Pull method too.
