Schedules not updating inventory from PDQ inventory

I have PDQ Deploy and Inventory 5.2. I have inventory collections setup that I manually change when a new version of software comes out.

So Application -Version - Version Lower Than - 36 gets changed to 37 when the newer Firefox comes out.

The collection name and everything else stays the same.

Similarly in PDQ deploy, I copy the steps from updated packages to the older packages I have setup with schedules. However, when I start the schedule it doesn't pull in all the updated computers from Inventory. It uses what was previously in there. So previously Inventory was indicating 18 computers needed the update, (most offline and need to be cleaned off the system) to 90+ but Deploy only tries to deploy to the old 18, even though the inventory has been updated.

I was able to fix it before by blowing out the schedule a creating a new one, but that adds more work.

  • Hi John,

Make sure in Deploy when you're setting up your schedule that you're choosing your targets by clicking "Link To" and then choosing your collections.  When you click "Choose Targets" it will create a list of machine names based on what was present at the time you chose the targets.  When you use "Link To" it will reference that collection and update the list of targets for the deployment.
