Auto redeploy uninstalled package

Hi, I have an AD link setup to deploy a package on a 90 min schedule (I'm on a trial, trying out EMET from the library). One thing im wondering, is there a method to detect when an application has been uninstalled from a linked machine and attempt an automatic redeploy? Thanks

  • Hi Rob,

This would be a function of PDQ Inventory and creating a Dynamic Collection to identify which machines need the software installed.  This collection could then be "linked to" the schedule you've created in Deploy.  Essentially if someone removes the software, the next time that machine scans it will see the criteria met and add it back to that collection.  The next time your schedule runs it will look in that collection, see the target, and attempt deployment.

*** Note - Make sure on the Options tab of your Deploy schedule that you uncheck the box for "Stop deploying to computers once they succeed" or the deployments will not happen after the first successful deployment. ***

  • Would it redeploy if it was linked to a spiceworks group or would it have to be Via PDQ inventory?

  • Yes, every time a schedule is triggered it pulls the latest info from the source it is linked to.
