Adobe Reader classic deployment intermittently fails while applying the patch.

Hello All,

I have Adobe Reader DC (Classic) 15.006.300119 running as an autodeployment on domain joined PCs. Intermittently the package fails with error code 1603 on the 5th step while it is applying the patch. Looking at the output log I find the following:

 

MSI (s) (94:64) [10:32:16:957]: Product: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC MUI -- Error 1321.The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader 2015\Reader\Locale\pt_BR\BRdlang32.PTB.

Error 1321.The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader 2015\Reader\Locale\pt_BR\BRdlang32.PTB.

ADelRCP logging: : [ReleaseAppEntryPoints] : : Successfully sent MSG to UnBlock Entry Points
CustomAction AllowAppLaunch_rollback returned actual error code 1603 but will be translated to success due to continue marking
Action ended 10:32:19: INSTALL. Return value 3.

  • How are you applying the patches? Are you using the PATCH= in the setup.ini file? I had a decent amount of errors when I tried to apply a patch outside of adding the patch to the ini file.
