  • TeamViewer has been added. Remember that commercial use of TeamViewer requires a license.

  • Thanks, if relevant to other users of teamviewer, we have setup a Inventory Scan Profile to scan registry for Client IDs.

Then we setup a report that filter the computername and the Teamviewer Client ID, to get a list of all IDs to add to our Teamviewer Console.

  • Does anyone know how to add the license key to the package?

  • @Rhett,

Another option would be to export all TeamViewer related registry settings (application settings and license key) )to a *.reg file (e.g. teamviewer_settings.reg).

then you can deploy reg file using PDQ deploy adding extra step.

I suggest you take a look on the new Teamviwewer v. 10 management console.
With the new v. 10 they finally added proper management tools.
The have centralized policies and settings, and bunch of other administrative features.
So now you build a msi in the console, and use PDQ to deploy your custumized package.

    Central setting policies

Apply setting policies, distribute them, and enforce them if necessary, all via the Management Console. Any changes to setting policies are automatically applied to all installations. IT Admins will be happy to know that importing .reg files is now a thing of the past.

I originally asked for teamviwer, but maybe it does'nt make sense for AdminArsenal to update teamviewer anymore, since most of us will deploy our own MSIs anyway?
    I know i will :-)

  • So I made my own TeamViewer. But I have problem with the deployment.

When I deploy to a new computer the teamviewer are installed fine, but not the password.

I made a TeamViewer_Settings.reg but still no luck. And then I have this problem with it asking for Account Assignment. So even if I deploy to 200 computer I need to go and accept that. Any here with a solution on those 2 problems ?

    Thank you for your time.

  • Hi Busser,

When you made the .reg file, did you pull the information for the HK Local Machine or for your user profile?  How did you deploy this .reg file to the targets?

We did find this online about TeamViewer 7 which walks through the process.

  • I took a local computer and install it on that first. Then I made the setup as I wise it should have. After that I went into option and advance setting and export the settings out. I called it TeamViewer_Settings.reg as the guide from the itninja.com. like this.

"When the TeamViewer_Settings.reg file is in the same folder as the MSI file, it will automaticly use the settings from the reg file."

But it does not work. The program is deploy just nice and works, its the settings "password, Account Assignment" and so on that is my problem :(

    Thank you for your time.

  • Just an update. The account assignment problem is solve. I had to make an account for it in the AD. But I still has a problem with that TeamViewer_Settings.reg

    Thanks again for your time.

  • Just been on the phone with TeamViewer Support. And we fund out that when deploying with PDQ then MSI packet do not take the TeamViewer_Settings.reg with it. I do not read it.

And of course they only support the AD way to deploy it. :(

  • Just curious if anyone has gotten this to work yet? with the .reg and ps1 file?   I can deploy this fine through SCCM, but I'd like to move it from there to PDQ to keep things simple
