Determine if target computer is a laptop

Provide the chassis type in an inventory scan so that PDQ Inventory can determine whether a system is a laptop, desktop, rack-mount server etc.

  • Open a computer in PDQ Inventory. In the Computer panel scroll down to the System section. You will find Chassis between the Processor and Serial Number. You can also create a Report or Collection based on the Chassis value.  We collect the Chassis information from WMI.

    Now if only I can steer PDQ Deploy packages based on it being a laptop or not.

  • A helpful tip is, In Active Directory If you are able to separate them in different OUs than you would be able to deploy laptop or desktop.
