Application Versions

Hi all very new to PDQ Inventory, I am currently a Pro Version Deploy user and love it.

I have a free trial pro mode of inventory and am trying to make some custom collections but they are not seeming to work and was hoping for some help

I have tried 2 dynamic collections Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash both are doing the same thing so here goes

for adobe reader I look for the application by name Adobe Reader and use version equals 10.1.4 and it returns the proper results. Then using a sub dynamic collection using member is not a member of Adobe reader this should return all systems without reader 10.1.4 but it returns no results

the same thing happens for flash the sub collection returns nothing. now i can check my report on spiceworks and I know i have systems without the current version of flash and reader.

i have rescanned multiple times does anyone have any suggestions?

  • This issue is probably with the "Drill-down from parent collection" option.  This option makes sub collections limit their filters to the computers in the parent, which in your case would give you 0 computers.  Just uncheck the option in the sub collection and you should be okay.

  • Yep that fixed it!! so far am loving this program looks real good. It does seem a little sluggish at times, but i remember seeing something on the forums or faqs about that, but havent had time to check it out

  • Excellent.  Our upcoming version 2 is primarily about performance improvements now that we have a lot more real world usage data.
