Filter for Installed/Not Updated Application

I am trying to make a filter that detects if a program has the latest version of software and/or if it is even installed on the system. I am aware that I can make 2 Dynamic Collections to do this but want a simpler approach.

In this attached example, I installed the latest CutePDF version (3.0.0.6) on my workstation and the rest left at version 3.0. It doesn't seem to work correctly and cant figure out what I am doing wrong.

*Note* I added "%SystemRoot%\System32\Reg.exe ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\CutePDF Writer Installation" /v DisplayVersion /d 3.0.0.6 /t REG_SZ /f" to this deployment to change the version

  • Good question.  Try this:

The top level Group Filter is saying that only one (Any) of the sub-group filters must return true. Our two sub-groups (Not Any and All) are mutually exclusive meaning that one computer cannot not pass both tests. The first sub-group will return all computers that don't have any version of CutePDF Writer 3.0 and the second returns computers that have CutePDF Writer 3.0 but the version is below 3.0.0.6. This is why I used Any for the top group filter.
