Machine login question

We currently have a samba/openldap domain but there is no "admin" user that is enabled in the domain to allow administration on the individual windows boxes. To do anything in PDQ Deploy ot Inventory I have to log on to the boxes with "machinename\Administrator" as the username instead of just "Administrator". Is there an easy(er) way to input the user/pass on all the computers than to manually input each one and assign it to the machine profile? If I could just use the administrator account without the machinename\ before it that would be best but I'm not sure that will work in my current environment.

We will be moving to Active Directory eventually, but this will allow me to fully test PDQ software.

  • You should be able to pass  .\Administrator as the account name. If the passwords are different for each local admin account you would need to create the different account in PDQ Deploy and Inventory. There is a description field that would allow you to differentiate the different Admin accounts if this is the case.

  • I thought I had tested that too but obviously I didn't. That worked beautifully. Thanks!
