PDQ thru NAT
Hello,
I have several networks connected to HQ with a IPsec tunnel and they all have NAT on them.
What is the best solution to get PDQ to work on those networks?
Thanks

Are you able to connect to remote computers through this tunnel? The requirements are the same whether a computer is on the local network or coming in remotely via VPN, etc. Microsoft File and Printer sharing ports need to be allowed to pass through the tunnel. Here is a forum post describing the connection requirements. A great test to verify is to see if you can connect to the ADMIN$ share on a remote computer. From a Windows Explorer window type type in \\computername\ADMIN$. For example, to connect to a machine called HOMER I would type in \\HOMER\ADMIN$
Shane,
Yes, but this is due that they are added with there NAT IP to the DNS server in the HQ but the local DC on the remote network cannot be contacted by PDQ, the DNS record is created for it.
The networks all have the same IP range (192.168.1.x)
At HQ a NAT has been setup on the firewall to make access to the others possible.
Site 1: 10.24.1.x
Site 2: 10.25.1.x
Hi Pieter,
You said "yes", you can connect. What errors are you seeing when having PDQ Inventory do a scan?
Are you seeing errors finding the computer? Are you seeing errors authenticating to the target machine?
What is PDQ Inventory reporting?
Can you post a screen shot of the errors?
That info will help me narrow down where the problem is.
Thanks,
Lex
Lex,
As you can see I can ping the remote domain, but when I want to add it to PDQ for the AD auto sync it cannot connect to the domain.
Am I missing a DNS setting or something?
Thanks,
Pieter
Pieter,
Just for verification:
What is the computer name of you DC for telcom.local?
Try this:
If your DC computer name was DC1, in Inventory try using DC1.telcom.local as the domain you are trying to add.
If that doesn't work try using the IP address.
Let me know how that works.
Lex
Lex,
That worked, now to get them scanned.
Any suggestions to get them scanned thru a NAT?
Thanks,
Pieter
Pieter,
I'm glad the last suggestion worked!!
Scanning through NAT.... pretty broad...
Can you provide me with a little more detail? How is your network address translation setup? How many IPs are we talking about? How many sites?
