Can reports be scheduled?

We're currently on the latest release of Inventory (3.1 R4), still on Pro mode.  We'll be upgrading to Enterprise, but just haven't yet.  Just wondering if there's a way to have Reports run on a schedule.  Also, I know I can export the report to csv once it's been run, is there a way to have it send directly from PDQ via email?  Thanks.

  • The ability to automatically email reports will be available in version 5 of PDQ Inventory. We are preparing this version for a public beta release in the next week or so. This feature will require Enterprise mode.

However, to email reports manually (from existing PDQ Inventory versions) you can run the report and then click Print Preview from inside the report. On the right toolbar (in the Print Preview window) you will see a button to email a report. You can also choose which file format you want for the attachment (PDF, Excel, etc.)

  • Just want to call out that I had put Inventory version 4 in my response instead of 5. The ability to automatically schedule emailing of reports is not in version 4, which is almost in a beta. Sorry... we are planning to have version 5 out in the first quarter of 2015.

  • No worries, It'll probably take me that long before I decide which reports need to be scheduled, anyway.  Just got the quote to upgrade to Enterprise over to our secretary this morning, I'm excited to upgrade.  Thanks again.

  • I was looking to see if emailing of reports had been requested...glad to see this is on the roadmap!

  • How is the timeline looking for Version 5?  I am anxiously awaiting scheduling reports.  :-)  So far, that is the only pain point I have with Inventory.  Otherwise, it has been a very powerful tool that has made satisfying auditor request much easier.
    Keep up the awesome work!!!

  • Just a heads up for you other guys in this thread -  Inventory 5 was released yesterday.  My console hadn't alerted me yet, I saw their post on Facebook and checked manually.  Scheduled reports are in there now.
