Need report for computers with MS Office AND Open Office installed.

Hi all, title says it all. I need a report that returns only computers that have MS Office AND Open Office installed.

I've tried setting up the filters every which way but I can't get the results I want which is only computers that have BOTH MS Office and Open Office installed.

Can someone maybe post a screen capture of how I would set up the filters for this? Thanks!

  • Corbin,

Import the attached report named "Microsoft Office and OpenOffice."

In my environment only one computer, ALCOHN, has both applications installed.

You might have started with a report that looks like the attached screen shot "ThisDoesNotWork.png".  It returns nothing because an inventory record can't be both Microsoft Office and OpenOffice, so we need a different approach.  The screen shot "ThisWorks.png" is the final result.  And for your viewing pleasure I include a short video showing how to transform ThisDoesNotWork into ThisWorks.

  • Here's another article that will help you understand Group Filters.

  • Awesome, thanks for the thorough answer!

I also had the columns section setup incorrectly apparently. I added "Computers/Name" and "Application/Name" in the columns to show me the results as computer names and the names of the apps I was querying for. I guess that doesn't work. I did what you did in the video and only had "Computer/Names"  in the columns section and it finally worked.
