The documentation for this tool states "Opens the remote assist tool on the target computer". Can someone elaborate on what this is supposed to actually do? I am using PDQ Deploy 184.108.40.206 in Free Mode and when I try to use the Remote Assist tool I receive an immediate error. "Your offer to help could not be sent. Check the following: Do you have the correct permission on the remote computer? Is the remote computer turned on, and is it connected to the network? Is there a network problem?"
I have administrative rights to the test PC and can access the C$ share. In fact, I just used PDQ Deploy to install Flash on the test PC using the same PC where PDQ Inventory is installed. Remote Assistance is enabled on the test PC and if I use the labor intensive way of using Remote Assistance on Windows 7, I can use Remote Assistance. (Labor intensive way: Opening Remote Assistance on the test PC, saving the file on the server, opening the request on the PC with PDQ Inventory installed, entering the password.)
