Custom Scan Schedules by Collection

Is there a way to set custom scan profiles by collection?

My boss wants the system to scan desktops every night - and by scan age, some servers scanned nightly, some weekly, and some only manually.

Is there any way to set this up?

Thanks in advance.

  • Yes, but in a round-about sort of way. We don't (yet) have a native scan schedule that can scan only specific targets (such as collections) but you can get what you are looking for by creating a Windows Task that runs a command.

Running scans from the CLI requires at least Pro mode. Here is an example of a command that will initiate a scan of the Applications scan profile to all computers in the Windows Server 2012 collection.

"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Admin Arsenal\PDQ Inventory\pdqinventory.exe" ScanCollections -ScanProfile Applications -Collections "Windows Server 2012"

    Give it a try.

  • Has there been any updates to PDQ that allow for a scheduled scan by chance?

  • We have an internal feature request ticket for this. I have no ETA on when it could be implemented.
