Scan status: Task image is corrupt

Hi,

Been using the PDQ software for a while and never really got round to investigating the few PCs displaying this error message:

"The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80041321)"

Details: HResult -2147216607, Scan Profile Standard, Scanner Windows Task Scheduler, Service Version 6.2.0.0, Type System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException

Online Help: http://support.adminarsenal.com/entries/20351492?message=The%20task%20image%20is%20corrupt%20or%20has%20been%20tampered%20with.%20(Exception%20from%20HRESULT%3A%200x80041321)

Now are getting the chance and unfortunately can't get to the bottom of it. The link indicates WMI corruption, however winmgmt /salvagerepository doesn't make any difference nor does the 'brute-force' re-register batch script (http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2009/05/08/wmi-troubleshooting-tips.aspx).

In fact, winmgmt /verifyrepository states that it is fine on the computers I've tried.

Any suggestions?
