Software inventory question

Where does PDQ Inventory pull from to determine if software is installed on a computer?  I have 76 computers that still have LogMeIn, however, we have installed and removed the services.  I assuming a registry key lingers.  Can you point me in the right direction so I can remove the key globally from everyone's machine?

  • Glad to help Steve.

On the target machine open Regedit and navigate to:

    For 32 bit machines =

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

    For 64 bit machines =

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

  • If you have a later version of PDQ Inventory you can can see where we get the specific applications from by opening the computer window, going to Applications and looking at the Registry Path value. If you don't see this value then the column is hidden. Simply go to View > Edit Columns. Move the Registry Hive and Registry Path columns to the Visible Columns window.

You will need Inventory 7 (Pro or Enterprise) to see this information.
