Computers that shouldn't be part of a dynamic collection are showing up in the collection.

I have a dynamic collection set up to show me which machines need to be updated to the most recent version of Flash and Java. I have two filters set up so if any machine has Flash or Java installed and is on anything lower than the current version, it should populate in the group. I then have this group broken down into two other dynamic collections, one for Java and one for Flash, both set to drill down from the parent collections.

My problem is that machines that have the current versions of both Java and Flash are showing up in these collections. They do not have older versions still installed. I checked through with my other collections and have found similar behaviour, where machines that have the current version are being included in a collection that should exclude them.

I've attached images of the filter settings for each collection.

  • That's odd. Do you have multiple Scan Profiles, or do you just use the Standard one?

  • Just the Standard profile set to run once a day. The computers in question have been scanned multiple times, both by the automatic scan and by me initiating the scan.

  • Do your computers have multiple editions of the applications installed? Some of my computers have both Flash ActiveX and Flash NPAPI installed. Some of my computers have Java 6 and 8 installed.

  • Flash, yes. Java, no. We install and update Flash for both ActiveX and NPAPI at the same time, so both version are on the most recent updates and the machines don't have an older version installed. Similarly with Java, we've purged all but a few machines of all Java versions lower than 8. The few machines that do have multiple Java installs actually aren't showing up in this group because their install of Java 8 is up to date and the filter looks only for the Java 8 version.

Obviously, this isn't super critical, I just don't like having false positives when I'm checking to see what machines I have to pay special attention to to get updates on in a timely fashion.

  • Hi guys. Nice to meet you here. It's my first visit here and I can't find everything that I need. Maybe you know where I can read about harvard anglia 2008 ? I'll appreciate your help.
