Search for File Logged in User Profile Desktop

Is there a list of system variables that can be used to search for files? I want to search the current logged in User's Desktop for an Icon so I can deploy to those that don't have it. I was thinking I could use USERPROFILE or something of that sort to get to the User's desktop but I don't see that listed.

    I recommend deploying shortcuts to C:\Users\Public\Desktop so it shows up for all users.

     

    I don't believe you can scan only the currently logged on user. You would have to scan all users with something like C:\Users\*\Desktop.
