Chrome Enterprise - Set DPI Scaling

Hey Chrome v54 fixed a "bug" that was causing Chrome to ignore users Windows Preferences for DPI Scaling.   This is causing unexpected large UI scaling in Chrome for any users that have their Windows DPI set to 'Medium 125%' or 'Larger 150%'.

The only work around so far has been a somewhat sloppy use of command line switches with a Chrome shortcut to set scaling back to the default of 100%:

/high-dpi-support=1 /force-device-scale-factor=1

Anyone have an idea on how to set the DPI scale factor globally using Chrome Enterprise deployed with PDQ?

  • I'm quite certain this is doable inside the Google Chrome ADMX file for group policy. I'd start there. You can control all kinds of neat things with it.

  • I'm new to Chrome ADMX GPO's, the list of policies I find doesn't have any options for DPI or Scaling that I see:

    http://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3

Am I missing something on that list?   Or is there another more complete list I should be looking at?
