Selective Scanning?

Hi All,

I was hoping to determine if it was possible to give PDQ deploy or PDQ Inventory a specific list of IP addresses to scan or add to an inventory list. We provide support to our companies units that live on our clients networks and I am quite sure they would be upset if we just went and scanned everything. Ideally I would love to just to be able to manually add a computer based on its IP but if there is another option out there that would allow us to add specific IP addresses to a scan list while avoiding all the rest that would work as well.

If this is possible, can someone please let me know how to go about getting this setup? Any suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Hello TJ,

Have you looked at Network discovery options? you can specify a single specific IP address (good for static machines) or the whole subnet.

If you have however already scanned the whole network and this includes the machines you don't want to touch, you could something like the following example which only shows machines within the 40/100 IP range in an inventory collection (adjust to suit your network)
Using the above collection, in PDQDeploy under Package Conditions, here you can select the "Is Not A Member" option this makes sure that the target computer is not a member of the selected collection before running the package/step.
