PDQ as an agent
I now have a need to manage end points through a VPN that Inventory will not be able to scan directly.
How is PDQ as an agent coming?
Any ETA would be helpful even if it is a general date.

We are announcing the End of Life (EOL) of the optional PDQ Agent beta from our existing products. See this blog post for more information https://www.pdq.com/blog/pdq-agent-status-update/
I wish we could give an ETA, but unfortunately there are multiple reasons why we can't. All I can say right now is that it's on our roadmap.
I understand
If you're looking for beta testers please reachout to me.
This is one major piece that’s keeping me away from the product. I have high hopes for the agent.
I just started using PDQ Inventory & Deploy, and we use it via VPN (at least until Agent release). Luckily, our remote sites are very simple and it works. What issue are you currently running into?
PDQ Inventory 16 is currently in beta and includes the new optional Agent. https://www.pdq.com/blog/introducing-inventory-16/
@Colby, This is great! It looks like a really thoughtful implementation as well. If this was rolled out for Deploy as well, I'm pretty sure my wallet would be open right now! Fingers crossed that coming soon for deploy is very soon. I really think I'd love to have an agent-ified Deploy/Inventory rolling for my clients.
Thanks.Peet
@Colby, I'm excited for the official release! Thanks
@ Tony,
(Sorry I know this is months later) The key for me is to have a deployment that works regardless of VPN/Network. I'd like to do some centralized management of multiple sites/customers without having to put deep hooks into their network. I'd like to not worry about a computer just because it's at home and the user never connects to a VPN.
But most importantly, the idea of the LAN as security layer is becoming really outmoded. I understand the ease of use, capturing all endpoints, etc but I'd rather not have everything that needs to be open open just to push patches and run inventory.
@Peet
I completely understand. We are deeply invested into cloud services. Hopefully, the PDQ team will add remote command support in the near future (at least until they can add PDQ Deploy agent support). This will help push file-less scripts to off-network devices in seconds. We would love this feature!
