Application Scanner Not Finding Everything

We are currently transitioning from our homebrew inventory solution to PDQ Inventory. One thing we noticed is PDQ Inventory isn't picking up on all applications that are installed. The current one we are seeing is 'McAfee Drive Encryption'.

We checked and it is in the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall like everything else. It just doesn't show up in PDQ Inventory. Any ideas?

  • PDQ inventory doesn't detect seem to detect Dell Data Encryptions or Dell ATP, could be a feature? unsure.
However I set up separate scanners ( HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Dell\Dell Data Protection\** ) for them and created collections based on the scanner results, you can view the scanner results under Registry in a computer profile.
This method still doesn't add the results to the computer applications list but at least this way you can still identify machines with/without/version.
