Inventory - Skype for Business versus Lync

Is there a good way to inventory Skype for Business and Lync? I need to know which workstations are using which one.

I might be wrong, but I don't see either one listed under applications when I do a computer inventory and I believe each one uses a Lync.exe.

You'd probably need to check via exe version number or registry

v16 is Skype for business (2016)

v15 is Lync, but can also have the Skype for Business UI (2013)

Anything below v15 seems to be Lync (2010)

If Skype/Lync is installed as a part of the Office package, it won't be listed separately, just under Microsoft Office
