"BIOS Version Lower Than" when BIOS verison is alphanumeric

Hi All,

What is the proper way to use the "Computer - BIOS Version - Version Lower Than" filter when the BIOS reports as an alphanumeric version? Can this even be done?

Most of the 272 non-vm computers in my inventory report this way. For example, the most up-to-date BIOS version for my HP Z4 G4 Workstations is officially "P61 v01.42". I have been trying to figure out how to set up a filter so that I can see all of the Z4 G4s that are lower than P61 v01.42, but I can't figure out any syntax that will give me the results. I can set them up as Does Not Equal "P61 v01.42", but that does not always give me a completely accurate tally for all of my machine models.

Thanks, folks!

  • I reckon you're gonna want to use a matches expression and a regex match to get the results you want.
