While using condition: runner service died unexpectedly

Hey, it's the first time that I using PDQ Deploy (first day of trail) and I got problems 😃

I tried the three free trail packages from the library and everything works as expected - but when I try to deploy a custom package I get the error "Runner service died unexpectedly.."

I would like to build a custom package to deploy "Autodesk 3ds Max" with some conditions to check for existing installation and do either a full installation or a update. So I create some steps to check everything for my needs (for example: does C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2019\3dsmax.exe exist) . But as long as I use these conditions, the deployment stops at these steps with the mentioned error. When I remove the condition everything works as expected.

Are conditions disabled at the trail? Do I miss something? Already read this: https://documentation.pdq.com/PDQDeploy/13.0.3.0/index.html?common-step.htm

Does it help to export and upload the custom package somewhere?

Cheers!

  • Are you using any real time antivirus monitoring? I wonder if something about how we check the conditions is making that unhappy?

Also please note, if you are using build 13.0.3.0, that version is no longer supported. We recommend updating. You can contact us support@pdq.com for a link to our latest builds, or upgrade to the latest release in your console status bar.

  • Sorry for answering so late.

Yes, there is a real time antivirus running - I'll check it the next time. In the meantime I've used some checks against registry entries as a workaround..

    Cheers!
