Inventory Tracking - Non-PDQ Related

Not PDQ Related, but was wondering what other IT Folks used for their Inventory Tracking? We are looking to get something a bit more robust. Looking for something to track that "Employee A has this Asset, it was purchased on Date / Amount / From Vendor" and show that this asset use to belong to Employee B. I've looked into Spiceworks and wasn't a fan.
