PDQ inventory strange wrong password behavior

Hi,

I am having issues scanning some off domain machines for licenses. I can use the RDP from tools to access a machine with the local admin account but with the same credentials set as default if I try to scan those machines it will say wrong user or pass. Those machines are running 2012 r2. is there something I am missing ?
