New License vs Extended Upgrade

My company got old version (2015) of Deploy and Inventory which no longer eligible for update. I am thinking about persuade my boss to get latest version of those (because those not recognize W10), but not sure the pricing between:

• Buy new SW, new license
• Buy extended upgrade protection
