PDQ Inventory scan - queued status

Hi,

There is an issue with PDQ inventory; sometimes when a scheduled scan starts, the targets are stuck in "queued" status. I can manually abort them, but if I start a new scan, they will also stuck in this status. After this I cannot stop the PDQ Inventory service, its also stuck in "stopping" state, and gives a timeout error. At this point I cannot do anything but restart the server. We manage about 1900 machines with PDQ inventory and this error occurs every week, so it would be great if we have a fix for this. I checked our database with this method: https://community.pdq.com/posts/11225-dynamic-collections-not-updating but I didn't find any error. This problem also occurs in our other site (they are completely separated from us, different servers, different network etc).

I think the root cause is the scheduled scans, the service simply cannot handle this amount of machines, but its just a theory.

Can you guys please help us with this?

Thanks; Bela

  • We run the same amount of machines with no issues.  When I ran the PDQ Agent, I saw the issue you're talking about.   We decided to remove it until the performance can be improved.
