Using Direct Access To Deploy Batch Files To Machines Outside The Network?

My company has ~150 machines, all of which are using direct access. Direct access in theory should simulate the machine being on our network no matter where it is, however i am unable to see that its online once its on an outside network.

I know the agent is available, but i need to be able to run my backup batch file every hour to all my machines. Currently the agent is limited to un-edited packages and basic scans.

Is there anyway to configure PDQ and Direct Access to be able to push my files out to the machines?
