    I have run into this also. Check the IP address on the laptop and compare it to the IP stored in PDQ Inventory. If the laptop IP address has changed since it was first scanned, PDQ Inventory may not be finding it. I can't be sure but it appears that PDQ Inventory may be using the IP address instead of the MAC address to see if a computer is still online.

    I had a laptop and a desktop both showing the same IP in PDQ Inventory, when in fact the laptop IP had changed since it was first scanned. When I'd power off the desktop PC, the laptop would show offline in PDQ.
