Connection from PDQ Inventory not authorized, add user to Console Users

I am getting the error message above when I try this ......

PDQ Deploy 17 (Release 2) (Enterprise Trial) - Select New Target List - Choose Targets - PDQ Inventory

Set-up is - PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory installed on a domain joined Windows 10 PC. 1 domain Admin account created and used for the "Background Service" for both products and for logging into the PC and loading the Consoles. Therefore, only this account should need to be a member of "Console Users" - which it is.

I have a support ticket raised with PDQ but was wondering if anyone had a similar issue or if someone with experience of the product could suggest alternative set-ups I could try/test or any workarounds at all?

Thanks for any feedback.

UPDATE: Switched from "Central Sever" to "Local" and it worked. however, I need to evaluate the Server version.

  • Some things to check. Make sure the service user for both services are the same. And what fixed it for me was to Optimize the database in both products.  Options, Preferences, database.

  • Something I've seen cause problems before is if you write the username as user@domain.tld in 1 program and domain.tld\user in the other.
