Failed to connect to the service manager - The revision level is unknown (Windows 10 only)

I am trying to deploy to a Windows 10 PC and keep getting this error: Failed to connect to the service manager - The revision level is unknown

I can deploy to other PCs fine, it is just this one. Firewall is off on the domain. I have searched but I am not finding anything. Help?!

  • I'm getting the same error deploying to Win 10 - 1709 clients...

  • It's also happening with me as well on machines that are recently upgraded to 1709. Deployment works fine if I reboot the machine however the error comes up again after some time and I have to restart.

  • I am also having this issue. All targets are Win 10 (1709, 1803, 1607). Doesn't matter what package I push to them, I get "revision unknown" error. I've tried restarting target machines and flush DNS on PDQ server. PDQ Central server is running on Win Server 2016.

  • We fixed this issue. Our Riverbed SMB customization had errors, so restarting services fixed issue

  • I just recently started pushing the 1803 update only to my Windows 10 machines, and started seeing this same error, but not on all targets, followed Neff's suggestion of restarting the PDQ Deploy service on the server, and that seems to have resolved this error for us.
